Aldith Hunkar was born in Paramaribo, Suriname on December 2nd (of an interesting wine year). In her childhood years, her family travelled to Malaysia, Brazil and Tunisia. The expat life brought Aldith her relentless taste for travel and the broad horizon and language skills she gained from attending Dutch, British, American and French schools. She currently resides in The Netherlands and Jamaica.
In 1994, Aldith Hunkar is invited to anchor NOS Jeugdjournaal, the Dutch news programme for children, broadcast by National Newscaster NOS. During the six years that follow, the daily programme receives many awards and Aldith herself is voted Female Television Presenter of the Year 1998 by the public.
Aldith leaves broadcaster NOS in 2007 to start her own company: Hunk-arT for global freestyle multi-media journalism,
in which she combines her talents with her passion for travel.
Her broad horizon and freestyle approach to journalism add zest to all her disciplines: moderating, filming, writing. Qualified by well over two decades of experience in mainstream media, she also organizes media workshops and is available for voice-overs and podium contracts within her interest field.
